È un buon kit che riprende la serie incrociatori pesanti della piemontese Tauro Model ampliata però sulla 1:350.
Nel mio caso ho acquistato il kit a un prezzo davvero basso ma devo dire che, a prescindere, la qualità è ottima. Unico neo rispetto al kit originario è che mancano le fotoincisioni in metallo (tipo le ringhiere/battagliole del ponte), inoltre in quella produzione lo scafo era assemblabile in due sezioni longitudinali sulla linea di galleggiamento per permettere la creazione di un diorama marino con unità in navigazione, senza chiglia ma tra le onde. Detto ciò è un ottimo acquisto di base facilmente «upgradabile» con accessori complementari reperibili anche su Amazon. Va detto che ci sono imprecisioni sugli armamenti ma sono cose davvero da archivio storico, Il modello è in sé un’ottima riproduzione, perfetta nelle proporzioni in scala.
La nave finita (uno degli incrociatori più belli e moderni della II GM) sfiora i 53 cm (contro i 45 ca. del modello 1:400) con base di appoggio in dotazione. Buone le istruzioni. Un’ottima idea regalo per appassionati senza il bisogno di svenarsi con kit decisamente più costosi.

The price of this kit should give you clue about the quality. As a basic kit it is OK and you will get a reasonable result even if it lacks a lot of detail. It looks like it was originally designed as a radio controlled model which explains a lot. If you are looking for a cheap model that needs some work to get looking right then it is pretty good. Even as a make it out of the box kit with basic sanding and painting it isn’t bad and is good value.
Purchasing some extras like a wooden deck and railings will add to the cost but you will still be spending a lot less than similar kits with everything in the box. To get a more accurate looking Pola you will need to make some modifications that are not too difficult. Overall an enjoyable build that helps with basic modelling techniques and skills.

I love HobbyBoss models, they’re always one of my favourites when I’m making 1/35 scale tank kits so I thought they’d be an obvious choice for my first 1/350 scale boat kit. Unfortunately, this seems not to be the case.
This kit was rife with sprue flash, had a number of pieces poorly moulded (holes where there shouldn’t be and no holes where there should be) and was generally poor fitting throughout. The finished model has a number of large gaps which are impossible to fill with modelling clay and really take away from the overall look of the model.
Maybe these issues stem from me being a newcomer in the 1/350 scale boat kits, but this was not a good kit to build and the finished product is very poor due to all the gaps in the model caused by the poor fit. I’m very disappointed in HobbyBoss.
The only thing I can really say I’m happy with is the price and the box art.

This model really have many drawbacks and it is unfinished. But it makes the work interest, it increase the imagination… and the price is adequate for the product …The model needs improvement.
